About the Role
Henry Ford Health is seeking a Lab Assistant (Lab Customer Service) to support lab operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process orders, track specimens, and manage materials.
- Navigate information systems and operate laboratory equipment, including automation systems.
- Handle specimen and material pick-up, transportation, and receipt.
- Interact with patients, lab staff, and caregivers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Execute established procedures under regular supervision.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Computer skills
- Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in a medical setting, hospital or clinic laboratory preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and human anatomy preferred.
- College-level coursework in science preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills required.
