About the Role
As an Associate Product Designer at Databricks, you will join a team that works diligently to understand and solve our customers' most challenging problems. You will learn how to be a successful product designer at a high-growth enterprise technology company that operates at the important intersection of data and AI. As part of our 2027 APD cohort, you will have a dedicated manager and mentor as well as connect with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, account teams, and leaders from across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with a cross-functional team to build features for the Databricks platform
- Manage your project end-to-end, from discovery and ideation through final design prototype for engineering to implement
- Work with engineers and designers to ship features on the Databricks platform
- Conduct research with customers to better understand their needs and improve your design
Requirements & Tech Stack
- You will graduate in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a bachelors or masters degree in HCI or related design practice
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tooling in your design process without sacrificing craft
- Good judgement in visual hierarchy, layout, and information architecture
- Some first-hand experience with SQL and/or Python
- Hands-on approach — happy to build, test, and iterate to find solutions
- Use analytical skills to make data-driven decisions (e.g., analyzing product usage, conducting user experience research)
- Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate your design perspective to partners (engineers, customers, field) in written and verbal form
- Excited to solve ambiguous problems with a collaborative team
- Stay curious and keep learning about new technologies, customer domains, or product areas

$128,000—$140,000 USD
