About the Role

The Owner role at FG is a full-time, on-site position based in the Pune Division. FG is a culinary-focused agricultural company founded to explore and experiment with the diversity of crops, with the core mission to identify and grow the most flavorful vegetables for use in the kitchen. The Owner oversees all aspects of the culinary agriculture operation, including crop planning, field management, and coordination with kitchen teams. This role requires hands-on involvement in both agricultural operations and business decision-making, with a focus on long-term growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising planting and harvest activities.
• Managing suppliers and local partners.
• Monitoring crop quality.
• Ensuring that farming practices align with culinary goals and sustainability standards.
• Managing budgets and resource allocation.
• Setting strategic priorities for experimentation with new crops.
• Leading a small team to achieve production and quality targets.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Agriculture, horticulture, or farm management experience.
• Interest in culinary applications of diverse crops.
• Strong skills in operations management, including planning, organizing, and supervising day-to-day farm activities.
• Ability to develop and implement strategies for crop experimentation, quality improvement, and sustainable practices.
• Solid business and financial acumen, including budgeting, resource allocation, and basic reporting.
• Effective leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Ability to work on-site and engage with local partners.
• Comfort with hands-on field work and problem-solving in a dynamic, outdoor environment.
• Fluency in English.
• Knowledge of local languages in the Pune Division is an asset.

Qualifications

• Relevant education or training in agriculture, agribusiness, food science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
