Security Operations Specialist

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Security Operations Specialist role based in Mumbai. The specialist will monitor security events and alerts in the Security Operations Center (SOC), analyze logs and network traffic, and identify potential threats or suspicious activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and alerts in the SOC.
• Analyze logs and network traffic to identify potential threats or suspicious activities.
• Triage and respond to security incidents.
• Perform initial investigation and containment of security incidents.
• Escalate complex issues to senior team members as required.
• Maintain security tools and dashboards.
• Document incidents and response actions.
• Contribute to process improvements and playbook development.
• Collaborate with IT, network, and cybersecurity teams.
• Support compliance and reporting needs.
• Participate in regular shift-based coverage to ensure continuous security monitoring.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Demonstrated experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) environments, including monitoring, alert triage, and use of SIEM or similar tools.
• Strong Analytical Skills to interpret security logs, correlate events, and distinguish false positives from genuine threats.
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and common attack vectors.
• Understanding of Network Security concepts such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Hands-on Incident Response skills, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery procedures.
• Ability to work in a shift-based, on-site environment.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) is beneficial.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, or similar are an advantage.
