About the Role

BMO Capital Markets is a leading, full-service financial services provider. We are seeking a Global Markets Analyst for a client-focused role within the Global Markets Corporate Sales and Structuring team. The Analyst will support senior marketers who advise U.S. Commercial Banking corporate clients on managing financial risks through derivative products, with a focus across FX and Interest Rate solutions.

The role requires strong collaboration across structuring and execution desks, Commercial Bankers, and Treasury & Payments Solutions partners. The core function of the Analyst position is helping identify client exposures, prepare tailored analyses and materials, support transaction execution, and maintain a high-quality client experience. The role offers direct exposure to corporate treasury decision-making, market dynamics, derivative pricing, and the end-to-end sales process. This is a development-oriented position for a candidate who is analytical, commercially curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow into increasing client and transaction responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Senior Marketer Support: Support senior Global Markets Advisors across client coverage, opportunity development, pitch preparation, pricing, execution, and post-trade follow-up for FX and IR derivative solutions.
  • Client Analysis: Review client financial statements, debt profiles, cash flows, international operations, transaction activity, and other information to help identify FX and interest rate exposures and potential hedging needs.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor macroeconomic developments and prepare concise market updates, scenario analyses, and client-specific observations.
  • Hedging Solutions: Assist in evaluating and presenting derivative strategies, including FX forwards, swaps and options, as well as interest rate swaps, caps, floors, collars and other approved solutions. Help translate product mechanics, economics, risks, and trade-offs into clear client materials.
  • Pricing and Execution Support: Coordinate with structuring, trading, credit, legal, onboarding, operations, and risk partners to obtain pricing, prepare transaction materials, validate key economics, and support timely and accurate execution.
  • Client Materials: Create and maintain pitch books, market updates, exposure analyses, pricing summaries, term sheets, and other marketing materials for client meetings and banker discussions.
  • Pipeline and CRM Management: Maintain accurate opportunity pipelines, client activity, next steps, and coverage metrics in applicable CRM and reporting tools. Help senior marketers prioritize follow-ups and identify actionable opportunities.
  • Risk and Controls: Follow all applicable policies, procedures, suitability standards, documentation requirements, internal controls, and regulatory expectations. Escalate questions appropriately and protect client and bank information.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to dashboards, reporting, data quality, workflow improvements, and strategic initiatives that improve coverage effectiveness and the client experience.
  • Learning and Development: Build proficiency in FX and IR markets, derivative products, pricing concepts, credit valuation considerations, documentation, and commercial client engagement through formal training and daily mentorship from senior team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics, engineering, data science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience, including internships or early-career experience in capital markets, commercial banking, corporate treasury, risk management, consulting, or financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated interest in corporate risk management, financial markets, and derivative products across both foreign exchange and interest rates.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort working with financial statements, market data, cash flows, pricing outputs, and scenario analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple client requests, deadlines, and workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative, client-service mindset.
  • Ability to build effective relationships.
