About the Role

Magnific is seeking a Social Media Associate to manage Upscale's social media presence across YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. Upscale is Magnific's event brand focusing on creativity, AI, design, and technology, including Upscale Conf and city-based events. The target audience comprises enterprise clients, filmmakers, creative agencies, studios, and related tech teams.

  • Capture behind-the-scenes content, including planning, production, setup, and team activities.
  • Interview speakers, attendees, and partners on camera.
  • Manage content for YouTube, including talks, interviews, recaps, and Shorts.
  • Edit and produce video content in various styles and formats.
  • Write engaging captions, hooks, and copy that resonate with the audience.
  • Create content focusing on the work and people in the field, not solely on the company.

  • Curate and repost community work with proper credit.
  • Assist with Upscale's email marketing, including newsletter content, event announcements, and post-event follow-ups.
  • Utilize generative AI tools (including Magnific) for video and image creation.
  • Adjust visuals using templates in Figma for social assets.
  • Track content performance and make necessary adjustments.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Passion for social media and understanding of current trends.
  • Creative, outgoing, and comfortable approaching strangers with a camera.
  • Ability to generate new ideas, propose novel formats, and maintain a fun approach to work.
  • Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, readily accept feedback, and adapt quickly.
  • Maintain high standards for personal work and possess a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong copywriting skills in native or bilingual-level English.
  • Proficiency in writing for both email and social media, adapting content across platforms.
  • Understanding of enterprise content that avoids a "boring" tone.
  • Familiarity with the creative AI world, including tools, individuals, and discourse.
  • A portfolio showcasing original social content creation (shot, edited, and written).
  • Strong aptitude for AI tools: generative AI for image and video, alongside tools like Claude, ChatGPT, etc., for writing, research, design, and daily tasks.
  • Proficient video editing skills across preferred tools.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including internationally (approximately 1-2 trips per month).

Qualifications

  • Basic Figma or design skills.
  • Experience covering events or conferences.
  • Interest in the broader design and tech community.
  • Strong visual aesthetic sense.
  • A good sense of humor, demonstrable through captions.
