About the Role
Crum & Forster (C&F) is seeking interns for its Commercial Lines Division for summer 2027. These roles will focus on actuarial or product services projects.
Internship Focus Areas
- Actuarial: Rating and pricing enhancements and analytics, with a focus on the nuances of insurance pricing, especially for individually priced large accounts.
- Product Services: Automation of the Insurance Filings Process and AI, focusing on the complexities of insurance filings and jurisdictional variations.
Lines of Business Involved
- Commercial Lines: Auto, General Liability, Property, Umbrella, and Workers’ Compensation.
- Financial Lines: Cyber, Professional Liability, and Management Liability.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on 2-3 projects related to actuarial or product services focuses.
- Develop, maintain, review, update, and enhance existing processes and tools.
- Partner with tenured actuaries, data scientists, and product specialists.
- Support initiatives that drive efficiency, accuracy, and innovation across Commercial Lines functions.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Excel or R experience required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
- Ability to manage time and work effectively independently.
Qualifications
- Relevant coursework/exams in actuarial science or data science are a plus.
