About the Role

Cindavi is a specialty chemical manufacturer seeking two Process Engineers to join a small, tight-knit engineering team. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility from the start, focusing on taking customer processes from technology transfer through full plant production. The role involves ownership of an assigned process end-to-end, including technical work, plant execution, material management, and customer reporting.

The work week is expected to break down into approximately:

  • One-third in meetings, reports, and spreadsheets for customers.
  • One-third building work instructions and advancing the assigned process.
  • One-third on the plant floor with operators observing and working with the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of an assigned process, including batch tracking, work instructions, day-to-day execution, and ensuring raw materials are purchased and available.
  • Translate customer technology transfer packages into plant-scale processes, progressing through lab, kilo lab, and pilot plant stages.
  • Partner with operators, maintenance, and production personnel to troubleshoot live process issues and develop usable procedures.
  • Develop draft block flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, and specifications for raw materials and in-process samples.
  • Build cost models for new processes and evaluate profitability.
  • Support Process Safety Management activities, process hazard reviews, CPI practices, and regulatory work, including PMN submissions.
  • Communicate directly with internal teams and external customers.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
  • 0 to 5 years of process engineering, process development, or manufacturing experience. Recent graduates with internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Solid applied engineering fundamentals, including mass and energy balances, unit operations, and basic process economics.
  • Communication skills to effectively interact with operators and customer leadership.
  • Ability to be a self-starter, take instruction, ask clarifying questions, and work independently.
  • Dedication and reliability.
  • Willingness to be on call nights and weekends for the assigned process.

Experience in batch processing is especially relevant.

Exposure to scale-up, technology transfer, Process Safety Management, and process cost analysis is highly valued.

An MS, MBA, PhD, or PE is welcome but not required.
