About the Role
The Finance Systems Team develops and supports enterprise technology solutions for Publix's Finance and Accounting organizations. We are looking for a detail-oriented Associate Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the modernization of Publix's vendor funding and accounting technology platforms. This role offers hands-on experience with modern software engineering technologies.
Location
Hybrid (Lakeland, FL). Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support software solutions for critical vendor funding and accounting processes.
- Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, quality engineers, and product owners.
- Participate in the design, development, testing, and deployment of new features and enhancements.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Troubleshoot application issues, investigate defects, and assist with production support.
- Develop and consume APIs, services, and data integrations.
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions.
- Contribute to automated testing and CI/CD practices.
- Learn and apply modern technologies, development tools, and AI-assisted engineering.
- Gain knowledge of financial and accounting business processes.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience.
- Basic understanding of software development concepts and system architectures.
- .NET Core or .NET Framework (preferred).
- SQL Server, including writing queries (preferred).
- Experience leveraging AI-powered development workflows (preferred).
- 1+ years of professional software engineering experience (preferred).
