UAV Systems Integration & Verification Engineer
DROGO AEROSPACE
About the Role
Drogo Aerospace is developing a next-generation, multi-node autonomy platform involving distributed vehicle intelligence, swarm coordination, simulation, autopilot integration, and server-hosted development infrastructure. We are looking for a UAV Systems Integration & Verification Engineer to own system integration, simulation-driven testing, automation, and verification across these complex components. Your primary objective will be to ensure that independently developed software and hardware subsystems work together as a reproducible, fully tested, and reliable end-to-end system.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated regression, integration, and system-level tests to validate software quality and system behavior across releases.
- Design and execute simulation-driven test scenarios to evaluate autonomy software under nominal, edge-case, and failure conditions.
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks, test harnesses, and utilities for simulation-based validation.
- Work closely with flight-control systems, onboard computing platforms, physics models, and software- and hardware-in-the-loop (SITL/HITL) testing environments.
- Validate multi-vehicle behavior, vehicle configuration isolation, interface contracts, message handling, timing, communication loss, and recovery behavior.
- Develop Python tools for test automation, telemetry analysis, data validation, and test-result reporting.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain the integrated software and simulation stack on Linux servers and virtualized environments.
- Identify, reproduce, and diagnose software and integration issues using source code, telemetry, logs, and repeatable experiments.
- Define comprehensive test plans, measurable acceptance criteria, performance metrics, and rigorous verification procedures.
- Integrate automated tests into development workflows and CI/CD pipelines to detect regressions early.
- Maintain rigorous test documentation, traceability, and verification results to support reliable system releases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to improve software quality, testability, and system reliability.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong Python programming skills and practical software-debugging experience.
- Hands-on experience in UAVs, robotics, embedded systems, or autonomous system integration.
- Deep understanding of automated testing, integration testing, regression testing, and systematic debugging.
- Working knowledge of Linux, Git, computer networking, and distributed applications.
- Ability to investigate complex issues across software, simulation, onboard computing, and hardware interfaces.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with flight controllers, flight-control software, and ground-control software (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot, QGroundControl).
- Practical understanding of Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing workflows.
- Experience with simulation-based testing, automated test frameworks, or large-scale test execution.
- Working knowledge of onboard computing platforms and companion computers (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi).
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, virtual machines, and automated test infrastructure.
- Basic understanding of multi-agent robotics, swarm systems, or autonomous navigation.
Expected Outcomes
- Establish a reproducible process for bringing up and validating the integrated system.
- Deliver automated tests covering critical subsystem interfaces and multi-vehicle behaviors.
- Create repeatable simulation scenarios with measurable pass/fail criteria.
- Provide clear diagnostic evidence and reports for failures and regressions.
- Build a reliable verification workflow that supports continuous development and progressively more realistic testing.
