Software Engineer

About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Shift AI, you will design, build, and maintain back-end services and systems that power our enterprise AI solutions. You will write clean, efficient, and testable code, implement APIs, integrate with existing enterprise systems, and ensure reliability, scalability, and security of production environments. You will collaborate closely with product managers, data and AI specialists, and other engineers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and continuously improve performance and uptime. You will also participate in code reviews, contribute to architecture decisions, and help document and refine engineering best practices. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain back-end services and systems.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and systems fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) with one or more modern languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, Go).
• Experience in Software Development and Back-End Web Development, including building and maintaining APIs and microservices.
• Ability to design, implement, and debug distributed systems.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with AI/ML products, MLOps, or enterprise integrations is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and secure coding practices is beneficial.
