Specialist Firmware Engineering BUILD Program

About the Role

The Acuity Inc. BUILD program is a two-year rotational experience designed to develop high-potential early career talent into impactful professionals through hands-on experience. BUILD participants rotate to a different functional area every six months. Upon completion, participants will have developed broad business understanding, functional expertise, and professional skills for future career opportunities at Acuity. This role is based in Atlanta, GA, and begins employment on July 12, 2027.

Program Activities

• Specialized onboarding for all participants.
• One-on-one mentorship from an ABL Tech leader for the duration of the program.
• Social and networking events.
• Opportunities to collaborate with program peers.
• Leadership report-out meetings for rotational learnings and performance reviews.

Key Responsibilities

All Engineering Leadership Program Specialists will rotate into:

• New Product Development
• Sustaining/VAVE

Additionally, rotations may explore areas such as:

• Optical Engineering
• Light Engine Engineering
• Outsourced Product Development
• Product Support
• Product Management
• Project Management
• Tech Support, Field Service, Post Sales
• Labs & Certifications

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Electrical Engineering or Electrical
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving and time-management skills
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Intermediate general proficiency with AI tools
• Availability to travel based on business needs (up to 20%)
• Experience in basic principles of scripting and leveraging APIs
• Experience with basic control cabling, network configuration, and comfortable working with third-party lighting hardware

Qualifications (Highly Preferred)

• Leadership experience influencing change, people, and processes
• Team-oriented with a drive to take the initiative
• Less than two years of related work experience
