Hardware Integration Engineer
Applied Intuition
About The Role
Applied Intuition is seeking bright Hardware Integration Engineers to design and build next-generation compute and sensor hardware for autonomous and AI-driven vehicles. Hardware engineers will work across the full hardware lifecycle, from schematic design and PCB layout to bring-up, validation, and production support. This role involves close collaboration with software, firmware, and mechanical teams to ship reliable systems into production vehicle programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review schematics and PCB layouts for compute, sensor, and interface hardware.
- Support hardware bring-up and debug, including board-level and component-level troubleshooting.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate hardware functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to integrate hardware with embedded systems and validate end-to-end functionality.
- Work with vendors and contract manufacturers to support prototyping, DFM/DFT reviews, and production ramp.
- Contribute to hardware documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and test reports.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- BS/BA, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related degree graduating by December 2026 or Summer 2027.
- Strong fundamentals in circuit design, digital/analog electronics, and PCB layout.
- Experience with lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers) for hardware debug and validation.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and hardware specifications.
Nice To Have
- Experience with high-speed digital design, power electronics, or RF/sensor interfaces.
- Familiarity with communication protocols relevant to vehicle systems (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C).
- Exposure to compliance/EMC testing or DFM/DFT processes.
- Prior internship or project experience with automotive, robotics, or embedded hardware.
