About the Role
As a Lowe's cashier, your role is to ensure customers have a positive checkout experience. You will help serve customers and communities by providing a quick, friendly checkout and assisting them in getting the best value for their money.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience
- Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area
- Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently
- Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges
- Answer customer questions
- Help maintain a clean, safe workstation
- Complete other duties as assigned
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Minimally lift 10lbs unassisted or over 15lbs with or without accommodation
Qualifications
- Retail and/or customer service experience (Preferred)
- Bilingual skills (Preferred)
Note: This role may require travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores. Working conditions may vary by location, including exposure to inside and outside weather conditions and varying climates. Associates must follow guidelines for lifting, with single lifts limited to 75 pounds and team lifts used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used with proper training.
