QA Tester

About the Role

Join Data Eminence as a remote QA Tester and contribute to ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of software applications. This role provides hands-on experience in manual testing, API testing, bug tracking, software quality assurance, and test automation fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities

• Review software requirements and understand expected functionality.
• Create and execute manual test cases and test scenarios.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and usability testing.
• Identify, document, and report software defects.
• Track bugs using issue-management tools.
• Verify bug fixes and conduct retesting.
• Test web and mobile application features.
• Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Validate forms, authentication, navigation, and application workflows.
• Conduct cross-browser and responsive testing.
• Prepare test reports and maintain testing documentation.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
• Participate in Agile development and testing activities.
• Assist with test automation scripts where required.
• Monitor application quality across releases.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes.
• Explore AI-assisted testing and quality assurance tools.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of software testing fundamentals.
• Familiarity with software development and testing lifecycles.
• Knowledge of manual testing techniques.
• Ability to write and execute test cases.
• Understanding of functional and regression testing.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira.
• Basic knowledge of API testing using Postman.
• Understanding of web applications and browser behavior.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

Qualifications (Plus/Advantage)

• Familiarity with SQL.
• Basic knowledge of Selenium or Playwright.
