About Our Contract Student Worker Program
Zoox's contract student worker program offers the opportunity to contribute to real projects, work alongside engineers and researchers, and gain experience beyond the classroom. We are looking for students who are local to Foster City, CA, and can start as soon as possible.
Role Overview
This role supports Zoox's freeways initiative by exploring how to use external data to drive progress. This includes developing software to interface Zoox's simulation system with external data sources and developing potential use cases across various Zoox teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn how Zoox simulations work.
- Develop software to build simulations from external data.
- Review resulting simulations, identify issues, and drive improvements.
- Meet with teams across Zoox to learn their use cases and support adoption of new tools.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Software development: C++, Python.
- Ability to use Claude Code to drive progress, including generating software.
- Interest in working with various teams to learn use cases and drive adoption.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. program in a relevant discipline.
- Available to commit to a minimum six-month assignment.
- Able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Able to work on-site at our Foster City, CA location ASAP.
- Must adhere to Zoox confidentiality requirements.
Note: This is a contract position through a vendor. Compensation is $30/hour. Benefits eligibility is determined by the vendor.
