Venture Capital Associate

About the Role

Pairs is a global network of family offices, institutional investors, VCs and angels. We are hiring a Venture Capital Associate to grow our network of investors who invest directly in private companies, and to manage those relationships over time. This role sits on the investor side of Pairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Bring in investors who back companies directly.
• Understand what each investor looks for.
• Introduce investors to opportunities that fit.
• Open new investor relationships every month.
• Keep investor relationships current and qualified.
• Grow the network with new relationships every month with family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and angel investors new to Pairs.
• Gain a clear understanding of what each investor looks for to ensure relevant opportunity sharing.
• Stay useful to investors between opportunities for ongoing engagement.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Use AI tools daily, with clear judgment about where they improve your work and where they would compromise its quality.
• Platform handles the pipeline, research, and follow-up.

Qualifications

• Have built investor relationships personally and can explain how each one began (direct outreach, referrals, events, and networks engaged with deliberately).
• Have taken at least one investor from a first conversation to a direct investment in a private round and can walk through the process.
• Understand what your investors invest in: stage, check size, sector, and the reasons they decline.
• Treat discretion as second nature.
• A network made up mainly of fund LPs or institutional mandates is not the right fit for this role.
• Your current title matters less than the quality of your relationships.
