About the Role

Fireside Market Store Cashier - Full-Time position with Forest County Potawatomi Community.

Key Responsibilities

• Greets customers in a friendly and positive manner.
• Provides excellent customer service, answering questions and resolving complaints.
• Operates the cash register, handles cash, and makes change.
• Receives merchandise and restocks shelves, coolers, and freezer items.
• Displays merchandise according to established policies and procedures.
• Maintains a safe work environment by following all safety rules and keeping the store clear of debris and hazards.
• Performs general housekeeping and maintains the cleanliness of the store's interior and exterior.
• Performs general snow removal as needed.
• Checks in vendor deliveries.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Cash handling and cashiering experience preferred.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Must obtain WI Class and WI Tobacco Check certificate prior to the first scheduled shift on the cash register.
• Flexible shifts and extended hours availability is required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Knowledge of basic cash management procedures.
• Knowledge of retail floor sales techniques.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of store products.
• Knowledge of POS systems and processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, train, and establish a high level of customer service within the department.
• Merchandising skills is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred.
• Three months' related experience in cash handling, cashiering preferred.
• A valid WI driver's license is preferred but not a condition of employment.

Working Conditions

• Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle, feel, reach, talk, and hear.
• Frequently required to walk.
• Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Work is generally performed in an interior work environment and kitchen area with exposure to heat, fumes, and steam.
• Evening, graveyard, holiday, and/or weekend work may be required.
• Extended hours and irregular shifts will be required.
• Frequent interaction with the public.
