Operations Associate (Legal & Compliance)

About the Role

Jerry is seeking an Operations Associate (Legal & Compliance) to manage core legal operations and rebuild them with AI and low-code tools. This role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to build and optimize legal processes within a startup environment. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of law, technology, and AI-driven efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation: Utilize AI and low-code tools to replace manual legal tasks with automated workflows.
• Legal and Regulatory Projects: Conduct legal research, review contracts, and assist with other substantive projects as they arise.
• Entity Compliance: Manage corporate entity filings and state requests across the US and Canada, ensuring compliance and good standing.
• Brand Protection: Monitor intellectual property, identify infringements, and initiate cease-and-desist procedures.
• Consumer Escalations: Investigate complex customer issues, recommend solutions, and develop compliance training materials.
• Product Compliance Reviews: Assess products and processes for compliance risks and user friction, collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to implement fixes.
• Compliance Audits: Lead audits across operations and monitor high-risk areas.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Experience using AI and low-code tools to improve work processes.
• Familiarity with regulatory filings and audits.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and handle ambiguity.
• Proficiency in managing projects from start to finish.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree from an academically rigorous program, with a record of high performance.
• A demonstrated history of owning projects independently and problem-solving without direct instruction.
• A proven interest in leveraging AI and technology for efficiency gains, evidenced by personal projects or tool usage.
