About the Role

The Accountant at Colour Jewels will manage day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining accounting records, preparing and posting journal entries, and reconciling bank and ledger accounts. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations.
• Maintain accounting records.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Reconcile bank and ledger accounts.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable.
• Monitor cash flow.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist with financial reporting.
• Provide budgeting support.
• Ensure GST and other tax compliance.
• Coordinate with auditors and external consultants.
• Ensure accuracy in inventory and cost accounting related to diamond jewelry production.
• Provide timely financial data to management for decision-making.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Accounting software (such as Tally, ERP systems, or similar)
• Solid Microsoft Excel skills

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and ledger management in a business or manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of Indian taxation, including GST, TDS, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to work accurately with numerical data, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret financial data for management use.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional certifications (CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
• Prior experience in jewelry, manufacturing, or retail sectors is beneficial but not mandatory.
