Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning:
- Set up new bridge navigation infrastructure.
- Retrofit older systems.
- Integrate complex marine electronics on commercial vessels and luxury yachts.
- Maintenance & Repair:
- Troubleshoot and fix critical equipment breakdowns.
- Replace components like magnetrons in radar units.
- Tune sensors.
- Perform routine system updates.
- Compliance & Inspections:
- Conduct mandatory Annual Performance Tests (APT) on Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs).
- Perform surveys on radio communication units to guarantee compliance with flag state regulations.
- Technical Support:
- Attend emergency vessel calls at local ports or at anchorages to trace faults rapidly and reduce expensive ship downtime.
- Documentation:
- Write precise technical service reports.
- Track spare parts requests.
- Log hardware calibration metrics.
