About the Role
Charles River Laboratories is seeking an IT Internal Audit Intern for Summer 2027. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic corporate audit environment, supporting the execution of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, preparation, and execution of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance testing.
- Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
- Prepare and maintain audit workpapers.
- Collaborate with employees and business partners across domestic and international locations.
- Participate in interviews with process and control owners to understand key business processes and controls.
- Assess compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.
- Document audit observations and assist in developing practical recommendations for process and control improvements.
- Contribute to the preparation of periodic status reports and testing updates for management.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- Strong interest in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, or Corporate Governance.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Eligible to work in the US without requiring a sponsor visa.
Additional Information:
- This position follows a hybrid work arrangement, requiring one day per week in the office.
- This is a 12-week internship beginning on Monday 5/24/2027 and ending on Friday 8/13/2027.
- The pay range for this position is $25.00 per hour.
