University of Washington
About the Role
The Department of Biochemistry has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer Assistant, applying biochemistry and protein design for cancer immunotherapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing de novo proteins against various biological targets (60%)
- Use computational pipelines including RF Diffusion, Protein MPNN, and RF3 to design binders against cancer and immune targets (including phosphatases, transcription factors, and others that are therapeutically relevant).
- Use computational tools developed at the Institute for Protein Design.
- Conduct work on-site with provided desktops.
- Understanding the immune cell biology behind the chosen targets (20%)
- Read and discuss literature regarding chosen cancer and immune targets and their relevance in cancer immunotherapy.
- Presenting and participating in group meetings in the lab (10%)
- Participate in weekly group meetings by asking questions and presenting work.
- Maintaining and writing protocols for computational pipelines (10%)
- Document workflows/pipelines for RF diffusion and MPNN so that other lab members can understand and use them.
