About the Role

Research and Development Interns at Helena Products Group (HPG) support the Technical Development Manager team with field research initiatives for Helena brands. Interns will gain an understanding of Helena's product development and processes in the agriculture and professional sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on assigned projects independently and as a team member.
• Assist R&D Personnel in designing and implementing a strategy for a successful Helena Field Day.
• Develop protocols for product testing, including field plots, commercial use, and cooperative testing.
• Collect, compile, analyze, and compare data from trials.
• Communicate results of testing and development to appropriate R&D Personnel.
• Complete weekly intern challenges to gain insight about Helena and the industry.
• Participate in weekly Research and Development team meetings.
• Prepare and deliver a final project and presentation to HPG leadership.
• Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned by leadership.
• Maintain reliable and regular attendance.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
• Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill.

Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in an agriculture-related field such as crop science, soil science, agronomy, plant pathology, entomology, or weed science.

Work Environment & Physical Aspects

• Office setting and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Exposure to outdoor elements, fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and risk of electrical shock when working outdoors.
• Requires using hands for various tasks, talking, hearing, walking, standing, sitting (8 hours a day or more).
• Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling (up to 50lbs or more).
• Requires reaching overhead (up to 25lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping, and twisting using hands and wrists.
• Requires bending and stooping for long periods.
• Requires working below knee levels for short periods.
• Requires working above shoulder level for short periods.
