Firmware Engineer

About the Role

This is a contract, on-site Firmware Engineer role based in Pune City. The Firmware Engineer will design, develop, and maintain embedded software for microcontroller-based systems, ensuring reliable and efficient operation of hardware products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for microcontroller-based systems.
• Write and optimize firmware code.
• Integrate software with hardware components.
• Perform debugging and troubleshooting at both code and system levels.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to define requirements.
• Conduct testing, support validation and verification activities.
• Document designs.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Improve development processes to meet performance, safety, and quality standards.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong embedded software skills.
• Experience with firmware development.
• Software development for microcontroller-based systems.
• Hands-on expertise with ARM Architecture and related development tools.
• Experience with low-level programming and hardware interfacing.
• Proficient debugging skills for embedded systems.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and software debugging tools.
• Experience with C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git).
• Experience with common build and test tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, data sheets, and hardware documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail.
• Capability to work independently on-site in Pune City.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering concepts relevant to embedded system design, integration, and testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
