About the Role
As a Lowe's cashier, you will ensure customers have a positive experience by providing a quick, friendly checkout and helping them get the best value.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience
- Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area
- Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently
- Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges
- Answer customer questions
- Help maintain a clean, safe workstation
- Complete other duties as assigned
- May include helping other departments, stocking shelves, or moving carts.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Minimally lift 10lbs unassisted or over 15lbs with or without accommodation
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in your state
Qualifications
- Retail and/or customer service experience
- Bilingual skills
- Bilingual, military, and veteran talent are strongly encouraged to apply.
Working Conditions
- Environmental factors vary by location.
- May work in both inside and outside weather conditions.
- Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions is possible.
- Exposure to constant or intermittent noises, moving or shaking objects and equipment.
- Lifting methods vary; single lifts limited to 75 pounds. Team lifts used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Powered equipment may be used with proper training or assistance.
- This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
