About the Role
EY is looking for an Executive in Statutory Audit.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out operational, financial, process, and systems audits to review and appraise activities, systems, and controls.
- Identify accounting & auditing issues and discuss with the audit in-charge to resolve them.
- Conduct substantive testing of appliances according to the audit plan and document all work performed.
- Identify improvements to control systems and procedures.
- Present audit reports clearly, highlighting key audit recommendations to management.
- Prepare and maintain statutory books of accounts, audit, reconciliation of accounts receivable & payable, and finalization of accounts.
- Assist seniors in reviewing and checking financial statements and preparing the audit report, management comment letter, and management representation letter.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Chartered Accountant qualification.
- 0-3 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of auditing & accounting standards.
- Experience handling statutory audit assignments.
- Ability to prioritize work on multiple assignments and manage ambiguity.
- Strong verbal and communication skills.
- Clarity of thoughts and assertiveness.
- Effectiveness and creativity of written expression – logical, readable, and concise.
- Good presentation skills and ability to respond promptly.
- Proactive and result-oriented approach.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 0-3 years of experience.
- Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly flexible, adaptable, and creative.
- Comfortable interacting with senior executives (within the firm and at the client).
- Strong leadership skills and supervisory responsibility.
