Specification Sales Representative

About the Role

Spectrum Lighting San Antonio, LLC is seeking a Specification Sales Representative to join their growing team. This role focuses on building relationships with architects, engineers, and lighting designers, helping them select the right lighting products for their projects. The position involves spending time in design studios, on job walks, attending product trainings, and engaging in discussions about lighting design. This is a relationship- and design-focused role, not a cold-calling position.

Key Responsibilities

• Build relationships with architects, electrical engineers, lighting designers, and interior designers across San Antonio and South Texas.
• Assist specifiers in selecting appropriate products from the company's linecard for various projects, from parking garages to lobby chandeliers.
• Conduct engaging lunch and learns, showroom visits, and product demonstrations.
• Review drawings and specifications, and collaborate with quotes and project management teams to ensure project completion.
• Stay updated on new products, controls, and lighting trends to provide expert advice.
• Represent Spectrum Lighting San Antonio, LLC at industry events, IES meetings, and other networking opportunities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Comfortable reading plans and specs, or eager to learn quickly.
• Organized to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to be frequently out of the office.
• Based in or willing to relocate to the San Antonio area.

Qualifications

• For Newer Professionals:
• Background in architecture, interior design, electrical engineering, or lighting.
• Experience in a design firm, distributor, or manufacturer.
• Curiosity, organization, and comfort with interpersonal communication.
• For Seasoned Specification Professionals:
• Familiarity with lighting schedules.
• Existing specifier relationships in Texas.
• Desire for a larger territory and stronger linecard.
• General:
• Enjoy working with people and have an interest in design.
