About The Position
Kleinschmidt Associates is seeking an Entry Level Structural Fish Passage Engineer for full-time work in Seattle, WA, Redmond, WA, or Portland, OR. This role involves analysis, design, and engineering for fisheries, hydroelectric, and water resources projects. The position is hybrid, requiring three days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Structural design and evaluation of concrete and steel structures.
- General civil design on fish passage and hydroelectric projects.
- Travel for site inspections of concrete and earthen structures.
- Construction monitoring on a limited basis.
- Collaboration, mentorship, and teamwork with project staff.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- BS, BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering.
- Strong interest in working on fish passage projects.
- Relevant coursework in:
- Structural design of concrete and steel structures.
- Finite element analysis.
- Hydraulics.
- Soil mechanics.
- Knowledge of applicable standards and codes for structural engineering.
- Creative, problem-solving mentality.
- Experience or interest in learning Revit, MEP, and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship).
- Ability to acquire authorization to work in Canada.
- Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver's license.

Salary
$65,000 – $86,000/year (based on experience)
