About the Role
MercyOne is looking to hire a Certified Pharmacy Tech for a Full-time position working Nights (Evenings).
Key Responsibilities
- Provides technical support in the delivery of pharmaceutical care.
- Prepares and delivers medications and sterile products.
- Stocks and orders drugs and other products.
- Compounds and labels extemporaneous liquid and solid products for patients.
- Prepares IV admixtures including TPNs, chemotherapy IVs, IV piggybacks, and syringes.
- Restocks automated medication dispensing machines.
- Restocks tackle boxes and cart inserts (crash carts, airway carts, latex carts) and completes check in/out process.
- Communicates stock utilization and ordering needs.
- Assists pharmacists with audits and completes assigned unit inspections.
- Provides training and mentoring to new employees and assists in directing workflow.
- Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Certified Pharmacy Tech
- Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- High School Diploma or GED (required if nationally certified through NHA)
- PTCB nationally certified technicians do NOT require HS diploma or GED.
- Completion of Mandatory Reporter training for children and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.
Shift
- 8-hours; Evenings 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
