AI Engineer/ Developer

About the Role

The Engineer /Developer - AI supports the design, development, and testing of AI solutions. This role is for a keen learner who adapts quickly, builds a solid understanding of AMETEK products and engineering workflows, and grows into independent task delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Development and Support

• Implement well-defined components in Python, such as data preparation, document-processing pipelines, RAG components, prompts, scripts, and APIs.
• Support testing and evaluation of solutions, and document results, code, and setup clearly.

Learning and Adaptation

• Quickly learn the team’s tools, platforms, coding standards, and engineering domain context.
• Technology awareness: explore the latest AI tools and techniques and share useful findings.
• Seek and act on feedback from reviews; use version control and team practices consistently.

Collaboration and Compliance

• Work with the Technical Lead - AI and BU engineers to understand needs and support user testing and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with applicable AMETEK IT policies, security requirements, and governance processes, including data-classification, export-control, and customer-IP requirements.

Reporting

• Update the Technical Lead - AI on task progress at pre-defined intervals, and raise blockers early.
• Maintain clear records of test results and issues to support KPI and dashboard reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related engineering discipline.
• 0 to 2 years of experience, including internships, academic or personal projects in AI/ML.
• Working proficiency in Python; basic understanding of machine learning and LLM concepts.
• Exposure to Generative AI or RAG through projects, coursework, or self-learning is an advantage.
