About the Role

As a Customer Service Associate, you combine top-notch customer service skills with genuine care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping at Lowe's. This role is for those who want to engage with customers and help them solve their home improvement challenges.

Your Day at Lowe's

• Welcome customers to Lowe's and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs.
• Interact with customers throughout the day, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met.
• Listen to customers, answer questions, and organize merchandise.
• Daily responsibilities may vary by department. Customer Service Associates work in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers to Lowe's, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
• Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately.
• Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store.
• Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Computer proficiency: 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Retail technology: 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
• Basic arithmetic: Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
• Physical ability: Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• Lifting: Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation.
• Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Qualifications

• 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
• Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
• Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of Retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bi-lingual skills.
• Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).

Working Conditions

• Environmental factors vary by location.
• Work in both inside and outside weather conditions.
• Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions is possible.
• Exposure to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment.
