Jr, AI and Data Consulting
Artefact
About the Role
Artefact is seeking a Junior AI & Data Consultant. This role requires an analytical, client-facing consultant who is also a hands-on builder with AI. You will perform advanced analytics, interface directly with clients, and ensure project efforts are aligned and on track, utilizing AI natively in your work.
Key Responsibilities
- Define client needs through interviews with client teams and technology partners.
- Perform advanced data analysis and research on high-impact, strategic client problems.
- Help build, formulate, and present strategic data and AI recommendations.
- Keep internal project efforts aligned and on track, and interface with clients with confidence and care.
- Use AI tools daily across your work: analysis, synthesis, writing, and quality checking — with the judgment to verify outputs.
- Prototype ideas with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex): a working demo, an automated analysis, a small internal tool.
- Apply core GenAI concepts — prompting, RAG, agents, context engineering — well enough to explain them to clients and stress-test vendor claims.
- Develop specialization in at least one AI platform ecosystem: Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), or OpenAI.
- Present insights to clients in clear, compelling language — to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- Contribute to new business proposals and to Artefact-published content (research, articles, business cases).
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong analytical skills and experience presenting data-driven recommendations to clients.
- Hands-on AI literacy: regular use of AI tools for real work, and demonstrated willingness to build — prototypes, automations, analyses — with AI assistance.
- Comfort with the terminal, and with tools like Claude Code or Gemini CLI (or clear evidence you'll get there fast).
- Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python for data analysis; advanced Excel and PowerPoint/Google Workspace.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, client-facing and intercultural.
- A learning orientation: willingness to be mentored by Senior team members.
Qualifications
- 0-3 years of full-time work experience, ideally in consulting, data/analytics, marketing, advertising, finance, or tech.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in business, technology, or another field related to our work.
Preferred Experience
- Strategy consulting and/or digital marketing knowledge.
- Familiarity with GenAI concepts: RAG, agents, prompting, context engineering.
- Exposure to a major AI or cloud platform (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI; GCP, Azure, AWS).
- Experience contributing to proposals or thought leadership.
