Position Overview

An opportunity for an Entry Level Environmental Engineer in the Albuquerque, New Mexico office to support a wide range of multidisciplinary projects. The role will include supporting field efforts and office tasks on a variety of environmental investigation, characterization, remediation, and monitoring projects for commercial, state, and federal clients. A main focus will be to support operations of a large groundwater treatment system (GWTS) and associated groundwater and soil vapor sampling at Kirtland Air Force Base.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform weekly groundwater treatment system inspections and collect daily, weekly, and monthly system data.
• Perform monthly, annual, and 5-year groundwater treatment system sampling.
• Assist with groundwater treatment system operations.
• Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, soil gas, and other environmental media.
• Perform routine maintenance on remediation systems.
• Support remediation projects including contaminated soil and hazardous waste sites.
• Operate/maintain field equipment.
• Follow sampling protocols including chain-of-custody procedures.
• Document field activities through logs, photos, and all types of field data.
• Assist in summarizing field activities, preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation.
• Adhere to and promote safety protocols.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• BA/BS degree in Engineering or related science.
• Strong data collection and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, and other standard business computer programs.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks to support projects on military installations.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Desired Qualifications

• EIT
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification and 8-hour HAZWOPER supervisor
• First Aid/CPR certifications
• Mechanical aptitude

Pay Range

$50,000—$70,000 USD
