Donor Relations Specialist

About the Role

The Donor Relations Specialist is a full-time, remote role responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and philanthropic organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to donor inquiries, providing excellent service.
• Ensure timely and accurate communication and acknowledgment of contributions.
• Manage annual giving activities.
• Support fundraising campaigns.
• Design engagement strategies that encourage sustained and increased support.
• Prepare donor reports and updates.
• Maintain donor records in CRM or database systems.
• Coordinate virtual meetings or events to strengthen donor engagement.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align donor communications with the trust’s mission, programs, and impact stories.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency with donor management or CRM systems.
• Basic data entry and report generation.

Qualifications

• Strong Customer Service skills to deliver responsive, professional, and empathetic support to donors.
• Excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
• Experience with Annual Giving and Donor Relations to manage campaigns, acknowledgments, and ongoing donor engagement.
• Understanding of Philanthropy and nonprofit fundraising practices to support strategic donor stewardship and relationship-building.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage time independently, and handle multiple priorities with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with a commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of donor information.
• Relevant education in communications, nonprofit management, social work, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a donor-facing or customer-facing role.
