About the Role

Palantir builds software for data-driven decisions and operations, empowering partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more.

This is a 12-month fellowship in New York City for students and recent graduates of the French Grandes Écoles, beginning October 2026. Candidates can participate during their gap year, as a 3rd-year internship, or within 12 months of graduation.

Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) work directly with customers to understand their problems and implement data-driven solutions. As an FDSE Intern, you will gain insight into and contribute to important industries and institutions. This role is based in our New York City office.

Key Responsibilities

As an FDSE Intern, your responsibilities are similar to those at a startup, with the resources and mentorship of an established tech company:

  • Work in small teams with minimal supervision and own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.
  • Day-to-day tasks may include discussing architecture, wrangling large-scale data, coding custom web applications, speaking with customer executives, or establishing team strategy.
  • Take responsibility for real-world projects and outcomes that customers rely on.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Currently enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd-year student at a leading Grande École, or recently graduated.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Available to relocate to New York City for 6-12 months starting October 2026.
  • Cannot be enrolled in university classes during the internship period.
  • Engineering background, preferably in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
  • Proficiency with one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to collaborate directly with clients.
  • Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal direction.
  • Ability to collaborate in teams of technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Comfortable working in a constantly evolving environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
  • Eagerness to creatively solve technical problems with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
  • Interest in working with and using large-scale data to solve valuable business problems.
