About the Role

G MASS Consulting is seeking an Alternative Investment Operations Analyst to support the lifecycle management of private debt and private equity investments. This role offers the opportunity for increased ownership within the function, with exposure to trade settlement, asset servicing, cash management, and accounting processes related to complex loan structures and private market transactions. The position is suitable for an individual who can take direction, quickly assume responsibility for a workstream, and build strong working relationships with the client team. The successful candidate will collaborate with investment teams, fund administrators, and external counterparties, contributing to process improvements and control enhancements. The role offers significant exposure to private markets activity within a collaborative and evolving environment, with scope for growth for fast learners. This is a 12-month contract with a view to extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the timely settlement and day-to-day operational management of private debt and private equity investments, including deal facilitation, settlement processing, income accounting, and cash wire controls.
  • Engage in asset lifecycle activities such as asset setup, ticket preparation, settlement confirmation oversight, reconciliations, vaulting requests, and ad-hoc operational investigations.
  • Develop familiarity with physical security registration processes and provide operational support for complex debt restructurings, amendments, and refinancing events.
  • Coordinate loan agency-related activities, including drawdowns, repayments, interest calculations, and covenant-driven events, ensuring accuracy in associated operational processes.
  • Review and assist in maintaining lifecycle accounting events for private market investments, including principal and interest (P&I), fees, expenses, capital calls, and distributions.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Front Office, Legal, and Finance, as well as external custodians/administrators, serving as a reliable point of contact.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Strong client-facing soft skills: ability to take direction well, learn quickly, and take ownership of tasks in a live work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a collaborative partner to a client team.
  • Experience in a controlled, detail-oriented environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced alternatives platform.
  • Exposure to loan terminology or middle-office operations is beneficial.
  • A background in trade support, fund accounting, or middle-office within financial services is likely transferable.
  • Exact private debt / alternatives operations experience is not required. Candidates without a direct AltOps background may be considered if they demonstrate strong soft skills and trainability.
