About the Role
Part Time Medical Assistant to provide care to client employees and their dependents in a Health Center located in Bowling Green, KY. Scheduled hours are 15 hours per week: Monday, 7am-4pm and Wednesday, 7am-1pm. Opportunity to work additional hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
- Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
- Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
- Medication administration including injections
- Performs laboratory tests
- Operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
- Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong Phlebotomy skills
- EMR experience required
- Previous primary care or outpatient experience a plus
Qualifications
- National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands-on externship completed and passed (total online courses are not accepted)
- Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for healthcare providers is required
- State Lab Certificate (NV only)
- CMA certification required from:
- American Association of Medical Assistants
- National Center of Competency Testing
- National Certification Medical Association
- American Medical Technologists
- Any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
