FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER

About the Role

Chartwells K12 is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER positions.

• Location: Kingsley Area Schools - 402 Fenton Street, Kingsley, MI 49649
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:45 am to 1:45 pm, as needed.
• Pay Range: $15.50 per hour to $17.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries food pans, kettles, and trays to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator, adhering to safety standards.
• Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Stores foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Uses approved food recipes and production standards for quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Relays relevant information to supervisors.
• Performs sales transactions, entering sales into the cash register.
• Makes change and accepts declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment.
• Issues receipts to customers.
• Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Manages assigned change funds and cash receipts to ensure compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Replenishes condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
