About the Role
The Physical Automation Mech Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area. This position is responsible for designing mechanical systems and components for physical automation solutions, including concept development, detailed design, and preparation of engineering drawings and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements.
- Select appropriate materials and mechanisms.
- Perform basic calculations and design validations.
- Support prototype build and testing.
- Participate in design reviews and refine designs based on feedback and test results.
- Work closely with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure smooth implementation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues in existing automation setups.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and practices.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- 3D CAD modeling, drafting, and tolerance analysis for automation systems.
- Understanding of mechanisms, motion systems, actuators, and basic machine elements used in industrial automation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into design solutions.
- Experience or coursework in robotics, mechatronics, or integration of mechanical systems with electrical and control components is beneficial.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to document designs and test results clearly.
- Prior internship or industry experience in automation, machine design, or special-purpose machinery is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.
