About the Role
Unacademy is looking for a Subject Matter Expert – Social Studies to join our Content Team on a contractual basis. This role is located at the Unacademy Office in Bengaluru and is strictly Work From Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and review high-quality content for Grade 9/10 Social Studies.
- Develop explanations, examples, questions, and revision material aligned with the curriculum.
- Simplify complex concepts into clear and engaging content.
- Ensure content is conceptually accurate, student-friendly, and pedagogically sound.
- Review and improve existing content while maintaining high academic and editorial standards.
- Collaborate with Content & Product teams to create effective learning experiences.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong command of CBSE/ICSE Grade 9 & 10 Social Studies.
- Excellent writing and reviewing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to explain concepts in a simple and intuitive way.
- Comfortable working with Google Docs and related tools.
- Strong ownership and a quality-first mindset.
Qualifications
- B.Sc./M.Sc. (Humanities/Social Studies) students or graduates preferred.
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in teaching, tutoring, content writing, or content review.
- Experience creating questions, solutions, and revision material.
- Ability to identify conceptual gaps from a student's perspective.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, in-office environment.
