Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain API automation test frameworks.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end API testing.
- Validate RESTful and SOAP web services using automation tools.
- Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts.
- Analyze API specifications, business requirements, and technical documentation.
- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify, track, and report defects using defect management tools.
- Perform database validation and backend testing.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure product quality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and test strategy discussions.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- API Automation Testing
- Postman, Rest Assured, Karate Framework, SoapUI, or ReadyAPI
- Java or Python
- REST and SOAP APIs
- HTTP, JSON, XML, OAuth, JWT, and API security concepts
- Automation frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit
- CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Version control tools such as Git
- SQL and database testing
- Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Performance testing tools such as JMeter
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Microservices architecture
- Experience working in DevOps environments
- Exposure to BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
