About BharatCode

BharatCode makes AI coding affordable for India. We run open models like Qwen and DeepSeek on shared GPUs and make them available through a chat app, a desktop app, a CLI, and an API. Paid plans start at ₹399 a month and our server stats are public. Interns work on the real product from day one.

What you will work on

  • The BharatCode desktop app, CLI, and chat
  • The model API that hackathon participants and developers build on
  • Serving infrastructure that helps us handle more users on limited GPU capacity
  • Tools and features for our community, leaderboard, and Build League

What we are looking for

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in CS, IT, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Strong programming skills in at least one of Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Comfortable with Git and GitHub
  • At least one project you have built and can show us, big or small
  • Experience using AI coding tools, while still being able to explain every line you ship
  • Available full-time for 3 months, working remotely

Good to have

  • Experience with Node.js, React, or Electron
  • Experience building with LLM APIs, prompting, or agents
  • Some exposure to Linux servers, Docker, or GPU inference tools
  • Past hackathon participation or open-source contributions

How it works

  • Register for the hackathon: https://bharatcode.ai/hackathon
  • Build and submit your project before the round closes.
  • Top performers are invited to interview.
  • Selected interns start after results are announced.

What you get

  • ₹60,000 per month stipend for 3 months
  • Real ownership of features used by students and developers across India
  • Direct work with the founding team
  • Internship certificate and a letter of recommendation for strong performers.
