About the Role
Zapplogics is seeking a creative YouTube Shorts Video Editor to produce engaging short-form videos that resonate across social platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit YouTube Shorts with compelling openings, tight pacing, and satisfying payoffs.
- Select the strongest moments and remove anything that slows the video down.
- Use captions, zooms, sound effects, music, and visual reactions to support the story.
- Sync footage with voiceovers and commentary for a natural, energetic flow.
- Build curiosity without revealing the payoff too early.
- Improve edits based on feedback and audience retention data.
- Maintain a consistent visual style across videos.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar editing software.
- Strong judgment about what makes viewers keep watching—or swipe away.
- Good understanding of English, internet humour, and content for a US audience.
- Ability to meet deadlines, follow creative direction, and contribute ideas.
Qualifications
- A portfolio of engaging YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, or TikTok videos.
- Experience with motion graphics, animated characters, or reaction overlays is a plus.
