As an Inpatient Post Surgical Registered Nurse at HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital, your contribution to patient care is valued and empowered. You will help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with department requirements and state/specialty standards.
• Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage."
• Act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values.
• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action for unintended responses.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about their medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
