Community Associate

About the Role

Butla is seeking a Community Associate to build and nurture the Butla community across California. This people-first role involves connecting with existing users, introducing new users to Butla, creating engaging content, and organizing community meetups. The ideal candidate enjoys meeting people, starting conversations, listening to experiences, and building genuine relationships. This role is about turning online conversations into real-world connections and fostering a community where people feel personally connected to Butla.

Key Responsibilities

Community Building & Relationships

• Build and maintain genuine relationships with Butla users and potential users.
• Engage with community members via social media, direct messages, online discussions, and personal conversations.
• Proactively introduce new people to Butla and encourage them to join the community.
• Develop relationships with local creators, professionals, student groups, and other communities.
• Foster an environment where people feel comfortable sharing experiences, ideas, and feedback.
• Maintain meaningful, long-term relationships with community members.

Community Meetups & Events

• Plan, organize, and host in-person Butla community meetups across California.
• Organize casual gatherings, coffee chats, product discovery sessions, and social events.
• Represent Butla at relevant local events, networking gatherings, and community activities.
• Facilitate attendee connections and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Manage event outreach, invitations, coordination, and follow-up communications.
• Build relationships with attendees that extend beyond events.

Content Creation & Social Media

• Create relatable, engaging content for Butla's social media channels (short-form videos, photos, stories, written posts).
• Capture moments from meetups and interactions to showcase Butla's people and culture.
• Develop content to introduce Butla to new audiences in simple, creative, and approachable ways.
• Interview community members and share user experiences with permission.
• Participate in social media conversations, establishing a friendly and recognizable voice for Butla.
• Collaborate with the team on content ideas, community campaigns, and initiatives.

Community Growth & Feedback

• Grow awareness of Butla through personal connections, community activities, and word-of-mouth.
• Encourage exploration of Butla through genuine conversations and product demonstrations.
• Gather feedback from users to inform product and marketing teams.
• Track community engagement, meetup participation, and relationship-building activities.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen the relationship between Butla and its audience.

Qualifications

• Strong social and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Naturally friendly, approachable, confident, and comfortable starting conversations with strangers.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Genuine enjoyment of meeting people and building relationships.
• Ability to make people feel comfortable, included, and valued in gatherings.
• Comfortable hosting events, speaking to groups, and representing a brand publicly.
• Creative eye for producing engaging social media content.
• Ability to independently plan activities, coordinate events, and follow through on commitments.
• Understanding of how to engage different audiences authentically.
• Curiosity about AI, consumer technology, and technology's impact on everyday life.
• Must be based in California and available for in-person community events.
• Previous experience in community management, content creation, events, hospitality, customer engagement, or brand representation is valuable.

Work Arrangement

• Part-time, remote position based in California, United States.
• Remote for daily activities (engagement, content creation, event planning).
• Regular participation in and hosting of in-person community meetups.
• Flexibility for some activities during evenings or weekends, depending on events.
• Occasional pre-arranged travel within California.
