About the Role
Dilly Dallys is looking for a dependable, hardworking Retail Associate to join our team. We are a fast-paced discount retail store offering a constantly changing variety of merchandise, including clothing, home décor, seasonal items, toys, and more. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys staying busy, and can work independently without constant supervision. Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and takes pride in keeping the store organized and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service.
- Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and maintain product displays.
- Receive, unload, sort, price, and process incoming merchandise.
- Assist with inventory management and maintaining accurate product information.
- Keep the sales floor, stockroom, and other areas clean and organized.
- Help create attractive and easy-to-shop merchandise displays.
- Identify tasks that need to be completed and stay productive throughout each shift.
- Work efficiently and independently while supporting other team members.
- Follow store policies and help prevent merchandise loss.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to scheduled shifts.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail, stocking, warehouse, or inventory experience.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment.
- Experience creating merchandise displays or visual merchandising.
- Familiarity with Shopify or retail point-of-sale systems.
- An eye for store layout, organization, and product presentation.
