About the Role

Why This Role Matters
As our UI/UX intern, you'll shape how people find our message, use our tools, and feel part of what we're building.
Key Responsibilities
- Design clear, inclusive, accessible interfaces for our website, landing pages, and campaigns.
- Create layouts, icons, and illustrations that reflect our values.
- Work with the content, program, and outreach teams to turn ideas into user-centered designs.
- Run light user research, or read feedback, and use it to improve your work.
- Help maintain a consistent design system and brand across touchpoints.
- Use AI-assisted design tools (Figma AI, Claude, v0, and similar) to move faster from idea to draft.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Hands-on with Figma (and any of Adobe XD, Canva, Sketch).
- Comfort using AI design tools as part of your process, with the judgment to know when to keep or throw away what they produce.
Qualifications
- A real interest in design that carries empathy, inclusion, and impact.
- Strong visual and layout sense.
- Grasp of UX basics: usability, accessibility (WCAG), responsive design.
- A portfolio (personal or student work is fine) that shows how you think, not just how things look.
