About the Role
NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island seeks a Housekeeping Hospitality Services Associate to clean and maintain a safe environment in assigned areas, and assist with departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of environmental and cleaning duties necessary to the orderly functioning of the department.
- Cleans spills according to HAZMAT guidelines.
- Ensures equipment is functioning properly and reports problems to appropriate personnel.
- Recognizes and responds to issues, referring them through the proper chain of command utilizing the escalation policy.
- Documents legibly.
- Maintains open communication through two-way radio or phone.
- Responds to dispatch in a timely manner.
- Works to improve and/or maintain HCAHPS scores.
- Utilizes appropriate communication in all interactions, demonstrating proper radio/phone etiquette.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Ability to communicate and understand simple directions in English.
- Ability to read MSDS & chemical labels.
- Use of two-way radio system or phone.
Qualifications
- Preferred: High School Diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
