About the Role
Sovereign Metal is a gold refinery dedicated to delivering high-quality precious metal products through precise and reliable refining processes. This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chemist based in Ahmedabad.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemical analyses on gold and related materials.
- Prepare and test samples.
- Validate results to ensure product quality and purity.
- Run laboratory instruments.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Calibrate equipment.
- Follow standardized testing procedures and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to monitor refining processes.
- Support process improvements.
- Troubleshoot quality deviations.
- Support research and development activities aimed at improving refining efficiency, yield, and environmental compliance.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Laboratory skills, including sample preparation, instrument handling, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Quality control skills to monitor product specifications, implement testing protocols, and support corrective actions.
- Analytical skills for interpreting test results, identifying trends, and providing data-driven recommendations.
- Research and development (R&D) and research skills to support process optimization and innovation in refining methods.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques (e.g., titration, spectroscopy, gravimetric analysis).
- Familiarity with quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- Experience in metal refining, mineral processing, or industrial laboratories is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on-site.
